The walking section of the club meets regularly at the Club on a Wednesday night. Leaving the Club rooms around 6:30 pm
Maybe one group, who are social walkers and they go out for around an hour or so. During the summer months, the various walkways in the reserves close to the Club become part of the routine walks. Winter months we use the various road circuits that we have built up over the years.
More serious walkers and those training for participation in Half Marathon's and Marathons may go out for longer training walks. Some of our members participate on a regular basis in these events.
During the summer months walkers may also participate in the Club athletics program, which includes the 3000 meter walk, and the 3000, 5000 and 10000 meters runs, but to which walkers are welcome.
Walkers are also invited on a regular basis to all the club outings, including the Redwood Forest in Rotorua, the yearly meeting with Waikato Harriers Club, and more recently at the Athletic NZ Road Relay Championships held at Inglewood.
