Good turnout at the Northcote Tavern fun run/walk. Nic Just held out Adrian in the run –both recording 23:06
Gail and Kaye battled it out for 1st spot in the women's walk!

NORTHCOTE TAVERN 5KM FUN RUN/WALK
Every Monday night until the end of daylight saving.
This is a fun but quite challenging 5km run/walk starting and finishing at Northcote Tavern.  Walkers start at 6.15pm and runners 6.30pm (Gold coin entry). Spot prize.  Calliope have undertaken to take over the organisation of this run, so it would be great to see as many club members as possible partaking. )Posted November 1st)

Junior athletics starts this Monday,1 November. Larger than ever turnout expected.  Senior members of the Club are invited to attend to support the muster on Sunday and promote the Club. (posted October 29th)

Junior muster
The Calliope Junior Section are having their muster this Sunday between 12 and 2 at the clubrooms in Mahara Ave. We want as many Seniors there as are able to make it, as the muster is not only a chance for the kids to meet the coaches, it was also a chance for them to meet with members of the senior section. Greg Arnold broke the 5min barrier in King and Queen of the mountain. The magical 5 min barrier has once again been broken, signalling a new era for the club. Julia Reed led ther women and broke the  six mintute barrier. Paul Rourke led the walkers. click here for more  (posted October 29th)

Mike Parker wins NZ ten km walk title.
"Mike Parker of Auckland won the senior 10km in 50m 6s. Parker has achieved a unique piece of New Zealand athletic history in that he now holds the longest span (34 years) between his first senior title won in 1976 and his latest effort. It is also 29 years since he last won a senior title". October 26th
